Full description
A head and shoulder shot with the Princess looking to her right. She has a wide white collar on a dark blouse. She has pearl earings, a choker necklace with four hanging pendants. Beatrice was a guest of Margaret Greville at Polesden Lacey and 16 Charles Street between 1915 and 1937. Her son, Carisbrooke, spent his honeymoon at Polesden Lacey. Signed and dated: from Beatrice 1932. Princess Beatrice was the youngest daughter of Queen Victoria. She was her mother’s devoted companion. She married Prince Henry of Battenburg and Queen Victoria Eugenie (Ena) of Spain, her only daughter, was a close friend of Mrs Greville. Her eldest son the Marquess of Carisbrooke spent part of his honeymoon at Polesden Lacey.
