Photograph, Lady Irene Frances Adza Denison, Marchioness of Carisbrooke (1890-1956). Signed, Irene, 1918. In frame with photograph of Alexander Albert Mountbatten, 1st Marquis Carisbrooke (1886-1960) Lady Irene Denison married Alexander Albert Mountbatten, 1st Marquess of Carisbrooke, (the son of Prince Henry of Battenberg and Princess Beatrice, youngest daughter of Queen Victoria) in July 1917. They spent part of their honeymoon at Polesden Lacey. Albert Alexander Mountbatten served in the Royal Navy from 1902 to1908 and in 1911 he joined the Grenadier Guards.
