Photograph, Alexander Albert Mountbatten, 1st Marquis Carisbrooke (1886-1960) Signed, Carisbrook, in same frame with photograph of Lady Irene Frances Adza Denison, Marchioness of Carisbrooke (1890-1956). Alexander Albert Mountbatten, 1st Marquess of Carisbrooke, was the son of Prince Henry of Battenberg and Princess Beatrice, youngest daughter of Queen Victoria. Carisbrooke served in the Royal Navy from 1902 to1908. In 1911 he joined the Grenadier Guards. He married Lady Irene Denison in July 1917. They spent part of their honeymoon at Polesden Lacey.
