Full description
This photograph is mounted in a oval setting which has been blurred at the edges for effect. Sidney is wearing a sailors cap, a jacket, white shirt and tie. There is a white handkerchief in his breast pocket. He is looking directly at the camera. The photographer's studio is printed on the edge of the photograph: Kirks, Cowes. A distant cousin of Ronald Greville’s Sir Sidney was the youngest son of George Guy, 4th Earl of Warwick and Anne, daughter of 9th Earl Wemyss and March. Youngest brother to the 5th Earl of Warwick, he worked as Private Secretary to the Marquess of Salisbury and Equerry and Groom in waiting to Edward Vll. He also held posts as Private Secretary to Queen Alexandra and Groom in Waiting to King George V. He was a frequent guest of Margaret Greville's at Polesden Lacey between 1907-1926. He also dined at 16 Charles Street.
