Full description
Lord Reading is standing wearing his formal regalia, he is holding his plumbed hat and looking to the right. Reading and Margaret Greville were long standing friends. Many letters were exchanged and he and his wives visited Polesden Lacey. Margaret was also his guest in India. Signed, 'Reading', Christmas 1921. His wife ,Alice, also gave Margaret a photograph that Christmas: 1246703 Sir Rufus Daniel Isaacs served as Solicitor General, Attorney General, Lord Chief Justice, Special Representative and then Ambassador to the USA, Viceroy of India, Captain of Deal Castle 1926 and Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports 1934. He was created Marquess of Reading in 1926. He married Dame Alice Edith Cohen GBE in 1887 and then after Alice’s death Dame Stella Charnaud DBE, Baroness Swansborough.
