Among the guests are King Alfonso XIII of Spain (1886–1941) and his Queen, Eugénie (1887–1969), standing centre front. Queen Eugénie was a grand-daughter of Queen Victoria and known as Ena. The couple separated and the queen went to live principally, in Lausanne, Switzerland and partly in the UK. Such was Mrs Greville’s friendship for Ena that she left her £25,000 in her will.
