Full description
Penelope is wearing a large pale hat, with a flower embellishment. She is standing looking towards the right, in a long dress with a light overskirt, a wide waist band and a crossover bodice. Behind her is a large tree to her left, and a wooded valley with a small pond. The original oil painting by George Romney 1734-1802, now hangs in The Huntington, California.
