Full description
Little Charles is on his mother's back wearing a hat. His mother is holding his hand, and is looking downwards. On her head is a material band which is tied under her chin. She is wearing a white bodice and a silk over dress. The background is dark of trees and a river valley. The original painting is housed in the Taft Museum of Art, Cincinnati, Ohio. The Mezzotint was published on 2nd November 1916 by Thomas Agnew & Sons.
