Summary
An extra-large open boardroom armchair, made for a Chairman, English, circa 1958, made by Charles Hammond Ltd. Part of a set of boardroom furniture, comprising thirty-five standard-sized mahogany open armchairs [NT 1246179], a standard chair [NT 1246181] and a boardroom table [NT 1246182]. With a scroll-over toprail and a padded upholstered back panel. The stuff-over seat between downswept open arms on baluster- and ring-turned arm supports. The front legs ring-turned and tapering, the rear legs outswept. Upholstered in brown and cream fabric worked in a diaper pattern, and with decorative red braid, to match thirty-one of the open armchairs [NT 1246179.1 - .31].
