Summary
An open boardroom armchair, one of a set of thirty-five mahogany open armchairs, English, circa 1958, made by Charles Hammond Ltd., in the 18th century style. The set also comprising a large Chairman's chair [NT 1246180], a standard chair [NT 1246181] and a boardroom table [NT 1246182]. Thirty-one upholstered in diapered brown and white fabric; four [NT 1246179.32 - .35] upholstered in red leatherette. With a scroll-over toprail and a padded upholstered back panel. The stuff-over seat between downswept open arms on baluster- and ring-turned arm supports. The front legs ring-turned and tapering, the rear legs outswept. Upholstered in brown and cream fabric worked in a diaper pattern, and with decorative red braid.
