Summary
A parcel-gilt mahogany and canework double bed, English, early 20th century. The headboard of arched form, and topped by a gilded and foliate-carved moulded cresting rail, centred by an elaborate giltwood wreath or garland of flowers and laurels, above a panel of woven cane. The footboard slightly lower. Both with finial-topped turned and fluted parcel-gilt columns, with turned and tapering fluted feet fitted with castors.

The bequest of Margaret (Anderson) McEwan, The Hon. Mrs Ronald - later Dame Margaret - Henry Fulke Greville, DBE (1863-1942) from probate records linked with the donation of the property to the National Trust in 1943.
