Summary
A mahogany and boxwood-strung cylinder bureau, English, early 20th century. The sliding tambour enclosing drawers and pigeonholes and a writing surface and above two short frieze drawers. Raised on square-section tapering legs terminating in castors. With boxwood line inlay throughout.
Provenance
Stamford collection, devised to The National Trust by Roger, 10th Earl of Stamford (1896 - 1976); transferred from Dunham Massey to Standen in March 1984, and thence to Polesden Lacey on 23rd February 1996.
