Summary
A pair of breakfront commodes, in the Louis XVI style, constructed in the 19th century, with kingwood parquetry veneer, each opening with two drawers, mounted with ring handles on English porcelain medallion back-plates, the canted corners above square tapering legs.

Reputedly supplied by Duveen for Polesden Lacey. Recorded in the Study when bequeathed by Margaret McEwan, The Hon. Mrs Ronald Greville (1863-1942) with Polesden Lacey, to the National Trust, in memory of her father, William McEwan (1827-1913).
