Summary
A table-vitrine, French, circa 1890, in the Louis XVI style, by Gervais Durand (1839- circa 1920), oak carcass veneered in mahogany, the brass and glass vitrine fitted above a table with a rectangular top above a frieze centred by a mask of Athena, the side opening with a drawer, on square-section tapering legs terminated by foliate square feet.

Date of acquisition not recorded; listed in the Saloon when bequeathed by Margaret McEwan, The Hon. Mrs Ronald Greville (1863-1942) with Polesden Lacey, to the National Trust, in memory of her father, William McEwan (1827-1913).
