Pencil drawing on paper, Robert Stevenson Horne, Viscount Horne of Slamannan MP (1871-1940) by Sir Herbert James Gunn RA (Glasgow 1893 - Hampstead 1964). Chancellor of the Exchequer, 1921-24. Signed, Horne. The youngest son of Rev. R.S.Horne, minister for Slamannan, and Mary Lockheed, Stirlingshire. He was created 1st Viscount Slamannan in 1937. He held a string of governmental posts culminating in his appointment as Chancellor of the Exchequer in 1921. Horne held Directorships of the Suez Canal Co, P&O, Lloyds Bank and Commercial Union. He never married and his viscountcy became extinct upon his death.
