Summary
Circular yellow wax seal made in two halves fused together. Red cords attached at the top. One side shows picture of Queen Victoria enthroned wearing crown and carrying orb and sceptre, robes flowing down steps to throne on either side. Follower on either side, one carrying a cross and bible. Royal coat of arms at foot of throne. Surrounded by border of flowers and leaves. Reverse side has picture of Queen Victoria on horseback carrying sceptre decorated with feathers and other accoutrements. Bridle held by retainer. Border embossed in capitals, crown at top, reading clockwise, VICTORIA / DEI / GRATIA / BRITTANIARUM / REGINA / FIDEI / DEFENSOR.
