Summary
One of sixteen Restoration Record Books created by Sheila Pettit, former Historic Buildings Representative for the National Trust. One of three scrapbooks documenting the completed restoration work at Cragside prior to opening. A scrapbook with black leather effect covers with gold trim and black pages, with layers of protection between pages. The first twenty-six pages of this book contain large black and white photographs, with snow on the ground, labelled as being by the Royal commission on Historical Monuments. The photographs are of the Stable Block, including upstairs rooms, Joiner’s shop, Tumbleton boathouse, Tumbleton ram house (now called the Pump House) and the Power House. The buildings are all photographed from various angles and annotated with their elevations. The rest of the book contains photographs by Turners, taken in December 1983, of buildings on the estate including the Pump House and Power House and including the machinery in the Power House.
