Summary
The removeable head of a painted plaster or earthenware figure of a seated woman with a child, Japanese, probably early 20th century. The head of the woman fitted with a mechanism allowing it to ‘nod’.
Provenance
Armstrong collection. Transferred by the Treasury to The National Trust in 1977 via the National Land Fund, aided by 3rd Baron Armstrong of Bamburgh and Cragside (1919 - 1987).
