Summary
Presentation cup with a dome shaped lid and two vertical handles in silver. Hallmark is Lion, leopard's head, P, H and R Ltd. Hunt and Roskell Ltd., late Storr and Mortimer 3039. Engraved with the Armstrong crest, and on other side, Presented to William John Montagu Watson-Armstrong on his 21st birthday by his father and mother, 10th Oct. 1913. Marked CRA/S/128.1 for cup and CRA/S/128.2 for lid.
Provenance
Armstrong collection. Transferred by the Treasury to The National Trust in 1977 via the National Land Fund, aided by 3rd Baron Armstrong of Bamburgh and Cragside (1919 - 1987).
