Summary
Photograph depicting Li Hongzhang (1823–1901), a Chinese government administrator, military commander and diplomat, who visited Britain 1896. Shown in Chinese official dress, seated, next to a table with a vase with flowers, a spittoon at his feet. In stained oak frame with gold slip. Similar but not identical to NT 1230496.
Provenance
Armstrong collection. Transferred by the Treasury to The National Trust in 1977 via the National Land Fund, aided by 3rd Baron Armstrong of Bamburgh and Cragside (1919 - 1987).
