Summary
Portrait miniature, gouache painting on ivory, Margaret Ramshaw, Lady Armstrong (1807-1893) by Edward Tayler (Orbe, Switzerland 1828 – London 1906). Oval. Head and shoulders portrait of an elderly lady turned to the right, in a pale brown dress, shawl and lace hat. Blue eyes, smooth grey hair, aged about 75.
Provenance
Armstrong collection. Transferred by the Treasury to The National Trust in 1977 via the National Land Fund, aided by 3rd Baron Armstrong of Bamburgh and Cragside (1919 - 1987).
