Portrait miniature, watercolour on card, Sir William Henry Watson MP (1796-1860), British (English) School, c.1858. Oval. Half-length portrait of a man seated to right, in a crimson chair, wearing a dark blue suit and white picket handkerchief. Brown eyes, sparse grey hair, rugged face, aged 62.
Provenance
Armstrong collection. Transferred by the Treasury to The National Trust in 1977 via the National Land Fund, aided by 3rd Baron Armstrong of Bamburgh and Cragside (1919 - 1987).
