Summary
Print, engraving, San Cristoforo, San Michele and Murano: from Fontamenta Nuova, Venice after Canaletto (Venice 1697 – Venice 1768). Black and white print with landscape depiction of part of a Venice lagoon with gondolas. Wide steps leading down to water on left foreground. Reverse of print bears pencil notations which are largely indecipherable and possibly unrelated to image. The church of San Michele was destroyed when the island of San Michele was made into a municipal cemetery in the 19th century. The original is in the Dallas Museum of Art.
