Summary
19th Century ebonised bonheur du jour with gilt edging and decoration on turned legs with platform under. On either side of the desk top small cupboards with gilt panels doors painted with birds and flowers on each, and central recess with fitted mirror; below three fitted drawers with brass ring drop handles and similar drawer fitted in desk top; spindle galleries to top and platform.
Provenance
Armstrong collection. Transferred by the Treasury to The National Trust in 1977 via the National Land Fund, aided by 3rd Baron Armstrong of Bamburgh and Cragside (1919 - 1987).
