Caption

Sadly we don’t know much about the original house at Cragside other than a few sketches by the friends of Lord Armstrong. Here David ‘Dippie’ Dixon, a local historian, showed the modest house at Cragside.

Armstrong collection. Transferred by the Treasury to The National Trust in 1977 via the National Land Fund, aided by 3rd Baron Armstrong of Bamburgh and Cragside (1919 - 1987).
