Woodblock print, ink and pigments on paper, unfinished (?) design showing a female figure in a kimono decorated with a pattern of bats and with a Kansei-era (1789–1801) hairstyle standing in front of tendrils of morning glory, seven blank square frames above, unsigned.
Provenance
Armstrong collection. Transferred by the Treasury to The National Trust in 1977 via the National Land Fund, aided by 3rd Baron Armstrong of Bamburgh and Cragside (1919 - 1987).
