Summary
Institute of Archaeology 2008: Fragment of tablet with decoration. Stuart Blaylock 2008: Terracotta plaque fragment. Rectangular moulded anthropomorphic plaque with projecting head, broken at waist and neck, so only the fragment representing the torso survives. Flat edges, convex rear surface, without detail. Best described as a ‘stylised Astarte’ design, with modelled breasts and border to the cape with a pellet design. See Moorey [lectures and Ashmolean Museum catalogue]; presumably 2nd or 1st millennium.
