Portrait miniature, hand painted photograph on ivory, George Granville William Sutherland-Leveson-Gower, 3rd Duke of Sutherland (1828-1892) , British (English) School, c.1861. Oval. Head and shoulders portrait, turned slightly to the left, gazing at the spectator, in a loose black coat, white shirt, and ablack neck-tie. Brown eyes, red hair parted on his right, and full red beard and moustache. Sky background.
