Summary
Portrait miniature, watercolour on ivory, Tsar Alexander I, Tsar of Russia and King of Poland (1777-1825) after Jean-Baptiste Isabey (Nancy 1767 – Paris 1855) c.1815. Circular. Head and shoulders portrait of a man turned slightly to the right, head turned to the left and gazing to the left, in Imperial Russian uniform (dark green, edged with red, silver epaulettes). The Orders include the Golden Fleece, Swoprd of Sweden, St George of Russia, St Andrew of Russia, and Maria Theresa of Austria. Blue eyes, short fair hair and whiskers, ruddy complexion, slightly smiling expression. Plain dark background.
