Summary
A coil-sprung chesterfield sofa, British, circa 1950s, the upright back flanked by out-turned armrests, on six stained beech bun feet, the feet mounted on shepherd castors, the buttoned sofa upholstered with glazed floral cotton and decorative trims, with later loose cover of yellow damask with multi-coloured fringing, the loose cover en suite with the drawing room curtains at Mount Stewart. The front right bun foot applied with a small white round stick with handwriting reading '191. The castors are by Archibald Kendrick & Sons Ltd who began manufacturing them in 1948.
