Summary
A mahogany two-seater humpback sofa, British or Irish, first half 20th century, of 18th century style, the upright padded back with humpback-shaped toprail with two out-curved armrests, the seat with two loose squabs, on out-splayed square-section legs, the front legs with brass and brown ceramic castors, upholstered in dark blue cotton and with a loose linen cover in tones of yellow, green and brown with various figural scenes, animals, floral and foliate motifs, with matching piping and with red and gold fringing around the base, the squab cushions covered en suite. The loose cover is en suite with that on an easy chair (NT 1220629) also located in Lady Londonderry's sitting room.
