Summary
A stained mahogany canterbury, British, circa 1820s, each side made up of three paneled sections (several panels missing) fixed between four turned and tapering legs with turned finials and terminating in brass caps and castors, the short sides each gilt-painted along the top with the alphabet A....Z and one end with the addition of 'sundries' the interior with later dividers to form fourteen compartments for holding sheet music. The underside of the canterbury applied with a small white round label with handwriting reading '152'.
