Summary
Silver Stag Hounds presentation cup 1899 with Coat of Arms on reverse. A Victorian large silver cup and cover, C.S Harris, London, 1897, In George II style, the bell shaped body inscribed on one side and engraved with armorials on the other above an applied girdle and foliate and portrait bust straps, leaf capped scroll handles, the domed cover similarly decorated with straps, inscribed " PRESENTED TO Lord Castlereagh by members of the County Down Stag Hounds ON THE OCCASION OF HIS MARRIAGE 1899"
Provenance
On loan to the National Trust from Lady Mairi Bury (1921-2009), 1976, then accepted by HM Government in lieu of Inheritance Tax and allocated to the National Trust, 2013
