Summary
A pair of circular walnut stools, British or Irish, circa 1840, each with a top inset with a circular beadwork panel featuring a floral and foliate grouping on a maroon ground with gold braid running around the rim and green/yellow velvet to the sides, with a banded and lobed frieze on four shaped and fluted tapering legs. The underside impressed with the Londonderry cypher.
Provenance
On loan to the National Trust from Lady Mairi Bury (1921-2009) 1976, then accepted by HM Government in lieu of Inheritance Tax and allocated to the National Trust, 2013.
