Summary

New polyester cushion pad.

Provenance

Part of Cushion Project Preventative Conservation carried out 4-8 June 2018 by Fiona Austin-Byrne. There was concern about long term effects of repeated freezing to tackle insect infestation of the cushions on the original wool, linen, silk and cotton elements of the cushions. The brief was to replace the original feather cushion pads with synthetic wadding that would be less attractive to the insect pests.
