Summary
A figured mahogany dressing table with mirror, English, part of a bedroom suite designed by Ernest Gimson, circa 1910. The rectangular top above two frieze drawers with silvered metal handles, surmounted by a freestanding arched swing-frame mirror, the base with three small drawers, all the leading edges with chequered beading, standing on square legs also with beaded edges and joined by an undertier. Ensuite with NT 1214076, NT 1214078 and NT 1214079.

Ernest Gimson (1864-1919) was one of the most influential designers of the English Arts and Crafts movement in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, and in particular the genius behind the Cotswold school in furniture and design.
Provenance
Originally on loan from Mrs H.W.H Vickers since 1984 and then purchased by the National Trust in 1998 with the aid of a V&A grant.
