Summary
A mahogany and satinwood inlaid secretaire cabinet, English, probably designed by T.E. Collcutt for Collinson & Lock, circa 1880. The upper section with dentil-moulded cornice and a pair of astragal-glazed six-pane doors between angled sides, the secretaire with shaped hinged fall-front enclosing a fitted interior of six pigeonholes flanking three small drawers, with a further eight small drawers around an open compartment, with ogee-shaped apron and square tapering legs with spade feet, joined by an undertier with twin-panel back.

T.E. Collcutt (1840-1924) was an architect and furniture designer for Maples, Jackson & Graham, Gillow's and in particular Collinson & Lock.
