Summary
Candlestick, one of a pair, stoneware, circular foot, central baluster with gadrooned band at shoulder and fluted bottom, brass stems above and below, the drip pan slightly convex in form, decorated by Emily E. Stormer, possibly assisted by Emily Randall, made by Royal Doulton, Lambeth, 1880-90; extensive incised and impressed decoration to the surface, scalloped edge to foot rim and rims of the drop pan, stylised leaves encircling the stem, abstract design to the baluster formed of interlinked forms, scrolling flower and leaves against a textured ground on drop pan, coloured in blue, green and brown glazes.

Emily E. Stormer was an artist in the Doulton Ware department at Doulton & Co's Lambeth Art Studio. She designed and decorated her own original pieces.
