Summary
William De Morgan vase. Iznik-style flowers on a dark blue ground made at the Sands End Works, ca. 1888-93: it was once owned by the financier Louis Montagu, 2nd Baron Swaythling (1869-1927), who included in a 1917 exhibition of De Morgan’s work at the Victoria and Albert Museum, noted in the Times, 27 March 1917, p. 3.
