Full description
Bessie Newbery (active 1882-1924) is listed as a junior assistant in the faience department at Doulton's Lambeth studio in 1882, but seems to have been promoted shortly after to a senior assistant to the Doulton artists. Her initials are mostly found on work by George Tinworth, Frank Butler and others, but she also created some of her own original works - this pair of vases being an example.
