Summary
A basin, from a five piece bedroom toilet set (STA/C/23a-e), comprising basin, ewer, soap dish with lid, sponge bowl and toothbrush dish. Made by Copeland Mortlocks, 1886. All are decorated with the 'Indian Tree' design picked out in terracotta with turquoise, green and orange leaves and flowers on a cream ground. Only the thin uncoloured outline of the design is traced inside the basin; it is fully decorated on the outside.
