Summary
On Plan Chest - Viewing Sample. Flock wallpaper, design of gold fleur-de-lys on cossack-green flock ground. Mid C19. Mounted on card under acetate. (V&A description). 1850-60 - Fleur de Lys, block printed on a brown ground in gold ink with dark green flock. (Allyson McDermott's description).
Provenance
Campaign of Decoration: 6th Baronet. C 1830/40. Original Location: unknown. Although similar to several design concepts by Pugin, this example is cruder and less formal. It resembles c 1852 examples from mainstream manufacturers such as Williams Coopers Boyle and Holmes and Aubert (see Allyson McDermott's report: Investigation into the use of wallpapers at Oxburgh Hall, Norfolk. April 2013).
