Summary
Model of a parrot, hard-paste porcelain, painted in enamel colours green, yellow, red on the head and wings with a patch of blue also on the head and wings, the base applied with berried foliage, gold anchor mark. Pair to 1209539. The base is closer to Meissen models from the 1740s, but the presence of the gold anchor mark suggests that it is much later, added to deceive collectors.
Provenance
Given to the National Trust in 1985 by Violet Hartcup, Lady Sybil Bedingfeld's niece.
