Summary

Two photographic negatives together on one sheet. Images are of fancy dress event at Nymans: the top image of Leonard Messel with two others in cow costume in front of house; the lower image shows figures in cow costume.

Provenance

Photographs taken in the 1930s by an unknown photographer. By descent through the Messel family with other papers, and inherited by the current owner in 1971. Gifted to the National Trust for Nymans in 2025.
