Monotone lithograph, Mary Constance Cuthbert, Lady Slade (d.1894) (after Louis William Desanges (Bexley 1822 - c.1887) printed by Judd & Co, from The Whitehall Review, head and shoulder portrait of Lady Slade, facing, head turned slightly to the left. Wearing gown with puff sleeves and trimmed with lace around low neck, lace necktie secured by pearl brooch. Unframed. Mary Constance Cuthbert, Lady Slade (d.1894) was the daughter of William Cuthbert of Beaufront Castle, Hexam. She married on 6th September 1860 Sir Alfred Frederic Adolphus Slade, 3rd Bt., son of Sir Frederick William Slade, 2nd Bt. (1834-1890) and Barbara Maria Browne-Mostyn (d.1885). They had five children. Violet Mary Slade (d.1917), Irene Marguerite Slade ( d.1943), Constance Maud Slade (d. 1941), Sir Cuthbert Slade, 4th Bt. (1863-1908) and Basil Arthur Slade (1865-1930).
