Summary
Rectangular mahogany writing box, made by T Handford of No. 94 Strand London, hinged lid fitted with red leather wallet, fold down writing slop lined with green baize, two compartments and ribbon trellis. Lids to compartments and secret drawers fitted with with ivory handles. Brass banding, plaque and side campaign style carrying handles. Fitted with Turner Patented lock. With nine secret drawers, one fitted with four ivory cylindrical screw topped boxes and one secret compartment.
