Summary
Brown leather case for the storage of forty Ordnance Survey maps, a map measurer and a small travel guide book called, CONTOUR ENGLAND. The case has a padded leather handle with metal straps on the attached lid and this is inscribed, GAG / TYNTESFIELD / BRISTOL. On the front of the case are two metal locks which are stamped, BRITISH MAKE / SECURE LEVER. A pair of keys are in the bottom of the guide book compartment. The case front is numbered, 1-14 / 15-27 / 28-40. These numbers correspond to the Ordnance Survey maps in each compartment. The case is lined in yellow leather and is stamped with the maker's name, Edward Stanford / Long Acre W.C. The map measurer is held in a leather holder in the lid.
