Full description
Leather covered wooden gun, c1900, for a doubled barrelled shotgun. Stiched leather covered wooden gun with hinged lid, secured by 2 leather straps and a brass catch. Leather carrying handle. The lid with inset leather panel with embossed name “CLIVE”; and painted with 2 stripes, red and black. The interior with compartments lined with green baize for the gun and various equipment for loading and cleaning. The remains of a label glued to one end of case with printed inscription; W.Evans Ltd., Gun and Rifle Maker, 63 Pall Mall, London SW 1 (William Evans, gunmaker, London c1885 – to date) With ink written inscription; Edward, The Earl of Powis The remains of a label glued to opposite end of case reads; Date is …..
