Summary
Plasterwork ceiling in the Jacobean style, copying motifs from the Elizabethan ceiling in the Dukes Room. Decoration includes the crests and badges associated with the Herbert family including the Wyvern. Rectilinear geometric design with narrow ribs circumscribing and linking rectangular and square panels with a variety of emblematic devices; panels between with foliate sprays and animal heads. The ceiling is circumscribed by a moulded cornice.

Created by G. F. Bodley for George Herbert, 4th Earl of Powis as part of the early Twentieth century alterations of the Castle. Powis Castle given to NT with an endowment in 1952, by George Herbert, 4th Earl of Powis.
