Summary
Plasterwork ceiling in the Jacobean style, based on the ceiling at the Reindeer Inn, Banbury; and belongs to the remodelling of 1902-4 carried out by G.F. Bodley for the 4th Earl of Powis. The design incorporates broad shallow ribs circumscribing square, circular and conjoined circular panels. Floral sprays and scroll work extend across all elements.

Created by G. F. Bodley for George Herbert, 4th Earl of Powis as part of the early Twentieth century alterations of the Castle. Powis Castle given to NT with an endowment in 1952, by George Herbert, 4th Earl of Powis.
